De Britse band Enter Shikari viert dit jaar de tiende verjaardag van hun debuutalbum Take To The Skies. Om deze mijlpaal kracht bij te zetten gaat de band op tour door Europa en staat op vrijdag 12 mei in de Ronda van TivoliVredenburg. Take To The Skies zorgde ervoor dat de vier tieners in 2007 zich lanceerde in de muziekbusiness. Zanger Rou Reynolds over Take To The Skies: “We’ll never write another album like Take To The Skies, as Enter Shikari isn’t really a band that looks backwards, but to be celebrating the 10 year anniversary of our debut album feels insane. It’s going to be a celebration of that album but it’s not going to be the clichéd “play the album front-to-back”, but as this is a special occasion, it’s important for us to recognise the importance of this album to us, and for the family of people who have supported us since those early days. On a purely selfish note, I cannot wait to play some of the tracks we haven’t played since 2007, or even ever! The fact that we get to reminisce and relive tracks we recorded so long ago, and that are still held dear by so many, is something I could have never anticipated back then and fills me with appreciation for everyone that has supported this band over the years”. Begin 2015 bracht de band hun recentste album The Mindsweep uit en in oktober brachten ze delosse single Hoodwinker uit. Op Instagram deelde Reynolds mee dat The Mindsweep-era voorbij was en dat de band momenteel aan ‘hun beste album’ ooit werkt.
